Mira-Bhayandar-Vasai-Virar Police have successfully exposed a fake robbery case in Nayanagar area, arresting three accused involved in staging the crime.
Incident Details
The incident was reported on March 18, 2026, when a woman working at an office in Nayanagar claimed that two unknown men entered the premises, threatened her, and looted ₹2.94 lakh from a drawer.
Based on her complaint, a robbery case was registered at Nayanagar Police Station under relevant sections of BNS.
Police Investigation
The case was taken seriously by the police, and Crime Branch officials launched an immediate investigation. Within 12 hours, police traced and detained one suspect from Mumbai, leading to a major breakthrough.
Shocking Revelation
During interrogation, it was revealed that the robbery was staged. The complainant herself, along with her associate, had planned the fake robbery after getting information about large cash being collected at the office.
